Not All Heroes Are People

Amid the chaos of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, nearly 100 search and rescue dogs were deployed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help find survivors at the World Trade Center and Pentagon sites. See photos of these four-legged 9/11 heroes, who are now all senior citizens.

These loyal dogs worked tirelessly to search for anyone trapped in the rubble, alongside countless emergency service workers and people from all around. I personally solute all those dogs for helping in their best efforts. We are always in awe of the amazing sacrifice on and after that awful day.  

All I  want is to (somehow) give a recognition for some of the 4-legged first responders at the September 11^th, 2001 terrorist attacks. I love dogs, who although are not forgotten, are not as prominent as the human stories involved. So I thought you would want to hear about some of the canines involved.
