Attraverso la newsletter del sito dell'associazione "Jerusalem Prayer Team", mi arrivata questa lettera scritta da Mark Evans che è intitolata "Sources claim Israeli jets destroy Syrian missiles headed for Hezbollah":
"Dear Antonio Gabriele,
Reports from the Middle East indicate the Israeli Air Force has again struck a convoy deep inside Syria on the border with Lebanon. According to newspaper accounts, advanced missiles were being transferred to Hezbollah terrorists for possible use against the Jewish People when they were destroyed in the attack.
My long-time friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu, has refused to publicly confirm the action, but there appears to be little doubt that the promise Israel has made to keep these weapons from falling into terrorist hands is being kept. I know how much the vow “Never Again” means to this commendable leader. His own brother, Jonathan, died fighting Palestinian terrorists who had hijacked a plane full of Israelis. It is hard for Israel to take such actions, but the alternative is even worse.
Now more than ever, we must support God’s Chosen People. I want to encourage you today to take your stand for Israel and the Jewish People by helping us make the Righteous Gentile Heritage Center a lighthouse and witness of Christian love to the entire nation of Israel.".
Ora, il Medio Oriente è un caos totale.
Gli Hezbollah (Sciiti) sono contro i sunniti ed i Fratelli Musulmani sono contro i Wahabiti.
Però, tutti odiano Israele e tutti odiano i cristiani.
Questo coacervo di correnti dell'Islam (che tra di loro litigano e si fanno la guerra) trovano due punti di incontro, l'odio contro lo Stato di Israele (e contro gli ebrei) e l'odio contro noi cristiani.
Contro Israele e contro di noi, queste correnti dell'Islam convergono.
Noi cristiani, di conseguenza, abbiamo il dovere di sostenere Israele.
Il bellissimo blog legato al sito sopracitato, ha un articolo molto interessante che è intitolato "Then said I, ‘Here am I; send me’”.
Di quell'articolo è interessante la parte che recita:
" But there is much more that needs to be done. We are working on what will be the greatest witness of Christian love the nation of Israel has ever seen—the Righteous Gentiles Heritage Center. The story of true Christian love for God’s Chosen People is urgently needed in this day, and this exciting, high-tech, interactive museum experience will provide it in a dramatic and meaningful way.".
In pratica, per noi cristiani amare Israele è un dovere morale, prima che politico.
Noi cristiani, con i nostri fratelli ebrei, siamo coeredi di Abramo.
Quindi, la difesa di Israele deve partire da noi.
Il popolo ebraico è la nostra radice.
Questo popolo fu il primo a conoscere Dio.
Gesù Cristo era un ebreo e non un greco, un egizio, un persiano, un siriano, un arabo o un romano, inteso come latino.
Se noi non difendessimo Israele, non saremmo degni di dirci cristiani.
