UPCOMING ELECTIONS IN AUSTRALIA: Even Assange wants to be a Senator!
Next Saturday will be held the federal election in Australia, which determines the members of the Parliament. The current Prime Minister Kevin Rudd wants to win his third term for the Labor government against the opposition Coalition. The Opposition’s leader is Tony Abbott from the Liberal Party.
In Australia, voting for the federal elections is mandatory. This is really important, a big deal for our friends from “The land down under"; and what it is quite interesting is that not many people around the world are talking about it.
As part of the political campaign, many issues are on the table, and everybody is discussing different solutions. One of the main topics that the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has shown is an impassioned defense of gay marriage.
But what really called my attention is that one of the candidates is Julian Assange, activist and founder of Wikileaks, who is running for the Australian Senate.
Wearing a platinum blonde wig, Assange appeared on a satirical news broadcast video through YouTube, Juice Rap News. The video was shot in Ecuador's embassy in London, where Assange has been held for over a year after requesting asylum to the South American nation.
The video also parodies other candidates as Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott the conservative candidate.
Here you have a link to the video:

Assange also played and sang John Farnham song, "You're the voice"; a song that speaks about "turning page" and "write what we want to write."
Here you can see the second video:

Do you want my personal opinion? I’m shocked! I didn’t know this could even be possible. But, well, let’s see what happens next weekend. I simply wish Australians the best; and may the best candidate win!!

Benvenuta Stephanie!
RispondiEliminaHai scritto una cosa molto importante. L'Australia è un grande Paese che merita molta attenzione.
Grazie!
Ovviamente, spero che vincano i liberali. Io sono di destra.
