The CPC: It’s a really BIG deal.

the Conservative Party of Canada sent me this message:


"Friend,

Last October, our Conservative Government announced a historic free trade agreement with the European Union. Today we moved even closer to a final agreement by approving a final legal review to proceed.

Here’s why this free trade agreement is such a big deal for Canada:

The EU is an economic powerhouse. It is home to more than 500 million consumers, and a GDP of $17 trillion. This free trade agreement alone could boost Canada’s bilateral trade by 20% and increase our GDP by $12 billion -- that’s the equivalent of up to 80,000 Canadian jobs.

But despite these impressive numbers, our opponents will always find a way to criticize anything we do. The NDP are radically opposed to every trade deal we've ever signed, and will reverse this deal if they get a chance. And while the Liberals are too concerned with marijuana legalization to talk about it, they’ve been opposing job-creating free trade deals since NAFTA.

That’s why we can't take this trade agreement –and the jobs it will create– for granted.

We know that free trade with Europe will create thousands of jobs and economic opportunities for hard-working Canadians, and it will help Canada continue to out-perform the world in economic growth.

The agreement between the European Union and Canada is very positive.
In fact, it could enable many young Europeans (like me who are out of work today) to find a job.
My hope is that it will bear the fruit and I think by Canadian efforts will be.
