The CPC, Michelle Rempel: I’m not okay with this

Michelle Rempel-Member of Parliament of Conservative Party of Canada

Dear friends,

read this message that the Conservative Party of Canada has sent to me:

"Yesterday I got the same email you did, from Fred DeLorey, about an inflammatory piece written in the Toronto Star aimed at our Prime Minister.

If you donated like I did, thank you. We need your support to continue to give Canada the strong, stable leadership that shines around the world. You can continue to support us, and our Prime Minister, by chipping in $45 now.

In response to Fred's email yesterday, the author of the piece stated, among other things, that "Mr. Harper lacks a sense of moral responsibility: to women..."

Outrageous.

I'm a proud Conservative. I work hard to fight for lower taxes, smaller government, keeping our streets safer, and to see Canada take strong principled positions on foreign policy issues.

It also just so happens that I am a woman.

It was our party that gave, for the first time, the same property rights to Aboriginal women that other Canadian women have.

It was our Prime Minister who was lauded by Bill and Melinda Gates for our initiative on Child and Maternal Health.

It is our PM who takes strong stands against militant terrorists who repress the rights of women in the Middle East, while Justin Trudeau has suggested such conflicts are based on "misunderstandings".

It was Stephen Harper who has appointed more women to cabinet than any other Prime Minister in Canadian history.

To suggest that our Prime Minister doesn't support women?

Please.

Let's contrast this assertion with something that happened to me.

Last year, when I questioned Justin Trudeau's wisdom in tailoring an invitation to a women's event in thinly veiled gendered language, a reporter asked me if I could speak to this issue because of how I looked in my Twitter picture.

That's support for women if I ever heard it.

If you, like me, believe that our party is the one that consistently stands up for women, join me in supporting our Party.

With your help we will break through this bias and talk directly to Canadians. Can I count on you to do your part with $45?

Thank you,

Michelle Rempel
MP, Calgary Centre—North
".

I'm with the Conservative Party of Canada and Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
I bring you one fact: Canada is a net exporter, which is a country that exports more than it imports.
For instance, here in Italy, cereals exports to Canada, pulp and fuel at a rate of almost 2%.
Canada has pretty much everything with the duties and protects its member companies.
The government of Prime Minister Harper has made Canada a competitive country.
Kind regards.

Cordiali saluti.
