Gubbio fa gli auguri a Villa Garibaldi di Roncoferraro, Mantova.
Il parroco di Villa Garibaldi don Giovanni Telò ha messo questa foto (che gli è arrivata da Gubbio) su Facebook, con questo commento:
"VILLA GARIBALDI GEMELLATA CON GUBBIO
Questa singolare immagine arriva da Gubbio (Perugia). Raffigura l’albero di Natale più grande del mondo: 800 punti luminosi, lungo il monte Ingino. E' il monte che sovrasta la bella città medievale.
In occasione del Natale, la foto è stata inviata alla parrocchia di Villa Garibaldi di Roncoferraro dal vescovo di Gubbio, mons. Mario Ceccobelli. Villa Garibaldi e Gubbio si sono gemellate dopo il terremoto del 2012, che ha danneggiato la chiesa del paese mantovano. La diocesi umbra ha offerto 10 mila euro per i restauri.
Che cosa unisce Villa Garibaldi a Gubbio? Il filo della fede, in particolare la devozione ai santi Giacomo e Mariano, martiri africani del III secolo. Sono i patroni di Villa Garibaldi, cui è intitolata la chiesa; le loro spoglie mortali sono custodite sotto l’altare maggiore della cattedrale di Gubbio.

Inizio con una piccola chiosa: anche se non ci sono mai stato, se non di passaggio durante i miei viaggi per la Sicilia, con l'Umbria ho un certo legame.
Infatti, San Gabriele dell'Addolorata, il santo che mi dà il mio secondo nome, è sì il Santo Patrono d'Abruzzo ma nacque in Umbria, ad Assisi, il 1 marzo 1838.
Fatta questa chiosa, l'anno scorso, proprio in occasione del gemellaggio tra la Diocesi di Gubbio e la Parrocchia di Villa Garibaldi, io ero presente.
Avevo partecipato alla visita della chiesa terremotata ed ero presente anche alla messa.
Io trovo che questo gemellaggio faccia sentire più vicine due realtà tra di loro lontane, quali sono Gubbio e Villa Garibaldi di Roncoferraro.
Come ha scritto correttamente don Giovanni, I Santi Giacomo e Mariano, i due martiri africani del III secolo a cui sono intitolate la diocesi egubina e la parrocchia di questo lembo di Pianura Padana.
Il mio augurio è che questa amicizia tra queste due realtà che tra di loro sono molto diverse possa continuare anche dopo questa situazione contingente dovuta al sisma.
Anzi, il mio augurio è che ci possa essere un clima di convivialità vera ed anche di collaborazione tra le realtà di Gubbio, di Villa Garibaldi di Roncoferraro e (perché no?) di Roncoferraro.

Termino, girando ai cittadini di Roncoferraro (e non solo) gli auguri di don Alberto Ferrari, oggi parroco di Moglia e fino al 2005 parroco di Roncoferraro.
Don Alberto mi aveva inviato gli auguri per posta.
Anche la Parrocchia di Moglia è rimasta ferita dal sisma.
