Dear friends and.
the former New York Governor Mario Matthew Cuomo left this world.
Born in the neighborhood of the Queen's June 15, 1932 by a family from Nocera Inferiore (in the Province of Salerno), Cuomo was governor of New York from 1983 to 1994.
Exponent of Democrats and progressive tendencies, Cuomo has always shown against the death penalty, which his successor George Pataki (also of Italian descent on his mother's) wanted to restore.
Pataki restored it after defeating Cuomo gubernatorial election of 1994, although it was never made effective with legislation that would establish accompanying procedures, conditions and timing of application, and its statute was declared unconstitutional by the Court of Appeals of New York in 2004.
Although Cuomo was a Democrat (and I would not have never voted) express My condolences to his loved ones.
He was still an Italian in the world.
Sincerely.
