Antonio Martino? Excellent choice for Quirinale
Dear friends,
for the Quirinale, Forza Italia has proposed Mr Antonio Martino.
Born in Messina December 22, 1942, Martino is a politician and academic high institutional profile.
His father, Gaetano Martino, was a politician.
His mother, Alberta Stagno d'Alcontres, was a woman of noble origins.
His family was part of an important family of Spanish origin.
In 1964, he was graduated in law in University of Messina .
Later he was appointed, after a specialization at the european level, "Harkness Fellow of the Commonwealth Fund," between 1966 and 1964, specializing in Chicago.
He had taken a course in the history of monetary policy at University "La Sapienza" in Rome .
He was also a professor at the Free University of Social Studies (LUISS) "Guido Carli" of Rome .
Like his father, Martino had entered the Italian Liberal Party, of which he became secretary in 1988.
At the end of 1993, Martino was one of the founders of Forza Italia, and in the first government of Prime Minister Berlusconi, he was appointed Foreign Minister.
At elections of 1996 and those of 2001, he was re-elected to the Chamber of Deputies.
In 2001 (according to the government of Prime Minister Berlusconi) he was appointed Minister of Defense.
In 2008, Martin was re-elected deputy to the People of Freedom (in italian Popolo della Libertà).
Since 2008 To date, he collaborates with the "Bruno Leoni" Institute, a liberal think tank.
In 2013, he supported the revival of Forza Italia, to which it belongs.
Martino would be the ideal man for the Quirinale.
I do not support him only because he is the Forza Italia, the party of which I am part, but because he has all the credentials to be a good president.
He has great political culture and knows the institutions.
In addition, after the last three Presidents of Republic of the left (Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and Giorgio Napolitano) the italian policy needs change of direction.
Martin is the right man.
Sincerely.
