in the TV show "L'Aria che Tira" (which airs on "La 7") spoke about the president of the Jewish Community of Rome, Riccardo Pacifici.
Pacifici has asked this question: " Where was Italy when (in 1981) there was the attack on the synagogue in Rome, while welcomed Arafat? ".
I agree with Dr. Pacifici.
The West committed serious errors in handling the issue of Islamic fanaticism and still it is committing.
Think of what happened in 2011, with the "Arab Spring."
President Barack Hussein Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton encouraged the Arab street to bring down dictators as Hosni Mubarak (Egypt) and Muammar Gaddafi (Libya).
France was pushing to make military action against Gaddafi.
Here in Italy the left was in support for the "Arab Spring".
Well, today the situation has worsened.
With the exception of Tunisia (where there is a precarious situation seemingly democratic) in various Islamic countries there is no democracy but there are military regimes (as in the case of Egypt) or situations of chaos in which Islamic fundamentalists have taken control of several areas ( as in the case of Libya).
It is hoped that in those countries was democracy that happen without a real process of reform in Islamic societies within them.
Now, we pay the consequences.
