Dear friends,
read the article on the italian newspaper "Il Timone" which is titled " Father James Schall SJ: "The Church risks ridicule supporting pseudo-scientific theories on the climate . "
Father James Schall (pictured) warns the Church on the environment and on the issue of environmental heating.
Until a few years ago, this American Jesuit was professor of political philosophy at Georgetown University in Washington.
From Father Schall, carry these words: " The Church, by doing so, the risk of being ridiculed for acting outside of its knowledge, confusing science (which is always reformable as to its principles) with the facts . " Indeed, there is some truth. On the one hand, it is true that man does harm to the environment. On the other hand, however, it is also true that global warming can not be attributed only to human activities. In past centuries, the climate was having problems. I mention the example of the little ice age of the fourteenth century, was brought by a colder climate. This climate ruined crops and brought disruption. In the fourteenth century there were certain issues of today. This is proven historically and scientifically. The Church does not follow certain demagogy.
