On his final day in Israel, the Prime Minister kept a busy pace. He arrived at the Sea of Galilee to visit Capernaum on the northern shore and the Mount of Beatitudes, which marks the site where Jesus is believed to have given his “Sermon on the Mount.”
In the afternoon, he and Laureen Harper visited the future site of the Stephen J. Harper Hula Valley Bird Sanctuary. The centre is to be a scientific and educational facility, designed to provide the public with a state-of-the-art interpretive experience, linking Israel with scientific communities and travelers from around the world.
He completed his programme in Israel by receiving an honorary doctorate at Tel Aviv University and participating in a discussion on the global economy and security.
Tomorrow, the Prime Minister Harper will begin his official visit to Jordan by meeting with His Highness, King Abdullah, and Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour. He will also meet with Canadian businesses operating in Jordan.

Invidio non poco il Primo Ministro che visita dei luoghi così importanti sul piano spirituale.
Lo dico con la massima stima per Harper.
Il Primo Ministro ha anche ricevuto il dottorato onorario alla Tel Aviv University.
Quello che sta facendo Harper è esattamente ciò che dovrebbe fare un buon politico che si rispetti.
Un buon politico deve girare molto.
Anzi, possiamo dire che un buon politico deve "consumarsi le suole delle scarpe".
Deve avere chiara l'idea delle realtà che visita.
Nel caso di Harper si deve parlare di realtà internazionali ma un discorso analogo può essere fatto per quelle locali, nei casi dei Sindaci o dei Presidenti di Regione.
Inoltre, Harper sta facendo ciò che ogni nazione civile deve fare: essere amico di Israele contro il terrorismo.
