In September 1620, a group of English Puritans set sail from Plymouth to escape the religious restrictions of King James I of England Anglican regime.
This group sailed on board an Italian ship, the lily of Florence.
The name of this ship was "Mayflower".
Once in the New World, these Puritans made it a colony that would later become the first US nucleus of America.
The following year, these Puritans celebrate the first harvest.
Subsequently, this thriving settlement was reached also by Anglicans and Roman Catholics who fled from the persecutions of the new Puritan regime created in England by Oliver Cromwell between 1649 and 1658.
Thus was born the new American spirit, a spirit of a nation with multiple religions and cultural aspects but with a strong base of values based on Judeo-Christian tradition.

Oggi, gli Americani festeggiano il Ringraziamento.
Nel settembre 1620, un gruppo d puritani inglesi salpò da Plymouth per fuggire dalle restrizioni religiose del regime anglicano di re Giacomo I Stuart.
Questo gruppo salpò a bordo di una nave italiana, con il Giglio di Firenze.
Il nome di questa nave fu "Mayflower".
Arrivati nel Nuovo Mondo, questi puritani fecero una colonia che sarebbe divenuta poi il primo nucleo degli Stati Uniti d'America.
Nell'anno successivo, questi puritani festeggiano il primo raccolto.
Successivamente, questa fiorente colonia fu raggiunta anche dagli anglicani e dai cattolici che fuggirono dalle persecuzioni del nuovo regime puritano creato in Inghilterra da Oliver Cromwell tra il 1649 ed il 1658.
Così nacque il nuovo spirito americano, uno spirito di una nazione con più religioni ed aspetti culturali ma con una forte base di valori fondata sulla tradizione giudaico-cristiana.
