Renzi? He is not Reagan
Dear friends,
my friend and co-worker Stephanie Caracciolo Arriera Tamagno I drew attention to an article in the website of the "Diplomatic Mission of the United States of America" which is entitled " "Reforms mandatory Renzi is good, reminds me of Ronald Reagan" interview with Ambassador Use . "
I thank Stephanie of inspiration.
The American ambassador John Phillips said that Italy needs reform and that the prime minister Matteo Renzi seems to Ronald Reagan.
I respond by saying that the ambassador between Reagan and Renzi runs an abyss.
Reagan was a great decision maker and politician who gave America a great momentum with reforms sharp and deep.
Renzi is not doing anything.
He just made a lot of promises and has kept very few.
Right now, Renzi has called another one of his.
The Prime Minister (unelected by anyone) said the deficit-to-GDP ratio of 3% is a parameter fashioned but must respect it.
This roof of the 3% deficit / GDP ratio imposed by the European Union (under the dictates of Germany) is idle.
Italy has a high tax burden and its businesses close.
Also, I think that Renzi has been inconsistent.
He says that the deficit ceiling of 3% of GDP and is old-fashioned but then says to have to comply with.
I understand that France and Hungary have decided not to abide by it.
If Renzi was really like Reagan would make a reform of the labor market that also abolish the current Article 18 of the Statute of Workers, a rule that has turned into a bureaucratic technicality that prevents dismiss even those who are lazy (and should be fired) and that prevents new hires.
If Renzi was like Reagan would lower the Set Value Added Tax (VAT) on products.
If you would like Reagan Renzi was an energy plan, because here in Italy electricity is expensive, since a good chunk of it is imported.
Renzi is like Reagan just words!
Best regards.
